My experiences on my transplant surgery rotation inspired this cartoon. I still remember how amazed I was by the shear number of people involved to pull off a successful renal transplant surgery. First the surgery to remove the donor kidney, then the delicate transfer of the donated kidney to the adjacent operating room where a second team then worked on the transplant recipient.
Truly a medical marvel.
