I remember growing up, I loved chicken nuggets from McDonalds. The sweet and sour sauce and my favorite. With each bite there was a perfect combination of the sweetness and tanginess of the sauce followed by the salty crispiness of the deep fried coating, and then the hot soft and chewy meat in the center.
Then my entire chicken nugget world came crashing down during a school recess when one of my classmates told me that chicken nuggets where made out of “cancer meat” from sick chickens.
That experience decades ago stuck with me and eventually found its way into one of my cartoons. While I can’t remember that kid’s name or even see his face in my head, I clearly remember the words that he shared.
